already starting to see lists of the best videos of 2007, and let’s face it, most of them suck. I actually saw one well known site touting Otters Holding Hands has a “Best Of” pick. I guess it’s cute . . . but even my Mom would probably go “that’s nice”, and forget about it 5 minutes later.

For me, a great video is something you have to share. Let me rephrase that . . . something I have to share. And I don’t share much. I guess there’s a need for people who feel they should forward everything they see to their friends, but I don’t wanna be that guy. If I forward a link to a friend, it’s because it made an impression . . . it may be awesomely good, it may be awesomely bad, but it’s something special. My friends have lives, they don’t have time to waste. If they see something from me, they know it’s worth checking out.

Will Ferrel and Adam McKay made a video bordering on genius . . . and possibly scarred Adam’s daughter for life! She’s either gonna be the most awesome child ever, or living in a refrigerator box on Sunset Boulevard sayin’ “I need to get my drink on!”

Stupid? Yes. But now everytime something happens that’s at all dramatic, this is what I see in my head.

Alanis sings My Humps

This one is a double shot – it not only made the song My Humps actually kinda cool, it made Alanis kinda cool again . . . she’s almost a CyberMonkey now.

Bruce Campbell shills for Old Spice

Bruce is the man! He made two commercials for Old Spice that actually caused me to stop the fast forward and watch them every fucking time they were on. The first one is just surreal . . .

And how does he follow that up? By taking Hungry Like The Wolf and making it his own! Duran Duran, you just got SERVED!

The Zimmers

This is further proof that age is nothing but a number! This a real band, folks, not some stunt. The lead singer, Alf Carretta is 90 years old, the youngest member is 69, the oldest member is 100, average age of 79. Do they rock? Hell yeah! Watch the end of the video!

Romeo Rose defies description . . . but I’ll try. This is a man who is passionate about his art. He’s dead set in his beliefs. He defends his art and his beliefs passionately, with a fervor that is worthy of CyberMonkey respect. The only problem is . . . he’s not very good, and he’s not very smart. And by not very smart, I mean really stupid. So stupid he’s hilarious. This is the first video in a series of 14 where he responds to his detractors. Watch this one, and you’ll wanna see them all.
