Star Trek Online

Abraxas brings you the news on a game he’s been beta testing for months – Star Trek Online.

Let’s set the way back machine to 2004. Back in those days a company known as Perpetual Entertainment declared it was creating a new MMO, Star Trek Online. It was a heady time for Star Trek nerds everywhere. Finally, they were getting their own version of World of Warcraft (which, in 04 had just been launched and wasn’t really WoW yet).

After 4 years of development, Perpetual Entertainment turned out to not live up to its name and shuttered its doors in 2008 and handed off the Star Trek franchise to Cryptic Studios.

After just a year and a half of development, helped along by no less than me, Cryptic launched the game.

That’s right, yours truly got called in on yet another Black Beta Ops mission. I’ve been at this one for a while now too. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you about this sooner, but you know how it is. When it’s a Black Beta Ops mission, I can’t breath a word about it.

Even to you guys.

So, believe me when I tell you- this game is very Star Trek.

Portal 2 DLC
I cannot recommend this DLC enough because it's FREE! Many, many times, developers have released extra content for $10 that doesn't have nearly as much stuff or the polish Valve gave Portal 2's DLC. The Portal 2 DLC is definitely worth checking out because it allows you to revisit a wonderful game you thought you were done with, continues the adventure of your favorite robot adventurers, it's for Science and it's FREE!
